This post contains some very interesting questions. The major problem in the US is that many people fail to differentiate between Islam and radical Islam. I think it would be very helpful for people to first understand the religion before making any claims either for or against it. Just as we learned about Christianity from attending church and/or sunday school, we should read about and involve ourselves with other religions before making statements about the people that follow them.
Islam is not a religion. It is one of humanities oldest cults. There is no such person as a moderate muslim or islamic follower since there are no provisions for moderation in the Qu'ran.
Non-muslims are described at Kuffar under the Arabic muslim culture. Muslims who convert to Christianity or become inactive as muslims.... take great risks to their lives. This is not speculation... it is absolutely proven fact.
There are 1.2 Billion muslims on the face of this earth and approx. 15% of them are fundamentalist and fascists. Which ones??? It is not easy to discern who to trust. At least 30% are Anti-semitic.
I have known 'seemingly' moderates who when questioned in terms of Qu'ran teachings... changed and became angry and defensive. One threatened to kill me after a one year 'friendship' at University, just because I made for a statement about a radical Immam in Iran back in 1985. Nothing has changed. Extremists still govern in Iran.

Muslims must be purged from our societies through restrictions on immigration and movements toward power and restrictions on their mosques and activities in mosques.
(We need to take swift and decisive action now... not 6 months from now.)
Muslims are using our democratic systems of free speech to spread islam throughout the western world. This is their leader's ultimate goal... it is the goal stated in the Qu'ran. They must follow that goal or they are not good muslims.
I have a very friendly muslim neighbour... he has two young daughters... but I know for a fact that he hates Jews. He stated his distain for Jews... a few months ago in a general conversation. It was a slip of the tongue by him and he curbed his anger. His origin is the country of Lebanon which up until about 30 years ago was a predominantly Christian country... now overtaken by Hezbollah fascist muslim extremists with similar agendas to the Nazis of pre-WW2.

Muslims are divided in Canada right now. 20 Imams here just signed a fatwa condemning terrorism in N.A. However.... there are those who refuse to take any responsibility too. Yet... they must take responsibility otherwise.... who else can?
Let me state that I have no background of hatred towards any race or religion. Up until now, I feel discontent overwhelming me in regards to whats happening to my country. What has happened to us and out history of protecting our heritage and way of life? I'm so tired if reading and listening about tolerance towards the Muslim community. And I ask why? Why if they show no tolerance for anyone else? Must we be careful of every little thing as not to upset their faith? Respect the county you are in, and its values first, earn that tolerance, understand our countries history and its passion. No one is making you stay. Yes, I understand that not all Muslims are "as" radical (or so they appear), so change the perception the rest of the world has. Be tolerant of others. I can tolerate a lot, and look the other way, but not when it comes to my country. Yes, America. I dont see out leaders taking a stance, and I feel its up to us to take back what our previous generations fought so hard for. We can fight for other countries and give our lives, when will we step up for our own before its to late. Open your eyes, its slipping out of our grasps, you know it and I know it, but what are we doing about it? Small demonstrations? I dont think thats going to cut it. Maybe we are to good, and thats whats causing our downfall. We need to join together and say enough is enough.
