Houston Mall Sign Commemorates 9/11 Martyrdom

If this business was going to close that day (9-11) there is no reason to explain to the public why. Just say we're closing that day to observe a traditional holiday or day of honor. They knew that being overly specific would cause some people to get excited. It was childish and premeditated to do what they did. Their explanation was thought out well ahead of time. This is a case of idiot psychology 101.

I am very sorry that our brothers in humanity in the US have misunderstood this sign. Perhaps this a good cause for them to know our great Imam Ali. No doubt that 9/11 was a big crime against humanity but I assure you that Islam has nothing to do with it. If the perpetrator is Osama bin Laden, then he should not call himself a Muslim. Allah(s.w.t) said in the Quran that ' if you kill one sole as if you have killed the whole humanity'. Talking about our great Imam Ali, I would like our brothers in the US to refer to Imam Ali's advise to his governor in Egypt Malik Al- ashter more than 1400 yeas ago in which he is quoted as saying' "be fair to people an remember your days when you were governed by others, and you should know that people in your state are either "brothers to you in religion or equal to you in humanity" . Americans - and well, the rest of the world - are always asked to speak "respectfully" and act "sensibly" when it comes to Muslims. We cannot say anything or draw any cartoon about Muslims and / or Muhammad. We shouldn't mention the truth about terrorism roots, that somehow always lead to the Islam. We can't speak freely about anything that "may hurt" the uber fragile Muslims.

I think people have every right to be upset over this sign - regardless of the fact that there's another explanation. They live in America - they should think like Americans or at least, respect ALL the people who live in America, not just them fellow Muslims.

I'm not sure anyone knows who is being spoken of here, the store owner says it's a 7th century religious figure honored every 21st day of Ramadam which occurred on sept 11 in 2009 and others say there was no such figure as Ali, so until the facts are set straight one shouldn't be so quick to judge.

This is an outrage and for anyone to praise the death of a killer like this sign does, should be run out of town and kicked back to what ever sand pile he/she came from.

Yes...the feedom of speach is protected in this country...but few other counties, especially in the middle east. I was in Bradha, K.S.A. durring the 9/11 attacks and witnessed the celebrations taking place over the attacks.

Because we are at war with Radical Muslums...any one supporting the enemies of the U.S., to include Radical Muslums, should be forced out of the country. During WWII if you supported the Japanese or the Germans, were jailed and arrested.

Come on folks...lets tell it like it is. Muslums even the so called moderate Muslums do not speak out in outrage...and as far as I am concerned...all Muslums are suspect to me and its a religion with no central guidence for its followers. It had nothing to do with 9/11; it was remembering a Muslim who was martyred in 661 AD. I was suspicious because I didn't remember any Imams (Muslim clerics) as being among the hijackers.
