I believe that most Americans WILL forget or perhaps HAVE ALREADY forgotten. So you might want to brace yourself! Unless there is difficulty, pain and suffering - NOT MUCH EVER GETS DONE!
Besides, isn't "NECESSITY" the 'Mother of invention?" Haven't our greatest discoveries come out of necessity? Haven't our greatest moments of triumph been in times of great difficulty?
One thing we CAN KNOW from history, is that history REPEATS ITSELF! It looks like said repetition is upon us again! While it's possible there could be a "Nineveh" type revival - I wouldn't count on it.
What's more likely, is a "Noah" type scenario. Where the diligent are running around warning everyone that will listen - "there's trouble on the horizon!" Yet, no one is listening!

Unfortunately, America only “wakes-up” when people’s lives are lost due to terrorist actions. This is in no small part due to the massive undertaking of liberal America to impose political correctness, religious tolerance, and so called, racial equality within our news and academics. I’m very curious to see if the tragic terrorist act at Fort Hood will be remembered and acted upon, or if like 9-11 most Americans will forget within a year.
It's very sad but most humans have a short memory. I wish they would play the film of 9/11 everyday. To cause persons to remember?
American must ask themselves some critical questions as citizens...l. Do I truly know what it means to be an American? 2. If I were not an American what would I be thinking right now about Americans. 3. If I were not an American citizen would I recognise that America is under attack and if so, would I realise that I do not want America to be destroyed as a country because I know they (America) are responsible for me being free and enjoying the liberities I enjoy every day? 4. Do I really realise that if America ceases to exhist that there will be no other nation strong enough both righteously and powerfully to assure that the borders of my own nation will not be overrun and conquered by the same radical Jihadists invading America externally and internally with the ultimate goal of imposing Sharia Law and destroying the existing Constitutional Democracy and then the rest of the english speaking Christian and opposing democracies throughout the world. Fact: It is now happening!!!. SOUND THE ALERT!!!THE TIME FOR ACTION IS NOW!!! THIS IS NO DRILL!!!

agreed. i am a muslime myself and after serving in the us military in the past, the political correctness and niceities that the US tries to implement while fighting a war is almost too much. there are too many factors that we take into consideration (ISAF, hearts-and-minds, int'l media) that hinder us from being more successful at our goals in trying to subdue terrorism, insurgents, and radicals fighting our troops. unfortunately it takes a grevious act to make americans re-re-realize that the threat is still real and being nice and proper is not going to get us anywhere. it's unfortunate enough that too many americans have mentally and emotionally forgotten about 9/11, USS Cole, Kenya/Tanz, Khobar, etc. vigiliance is what is going to help deter this threat, not acceptance or neutrality.
