Sign a Petition to Stop Stoning in Iran!
On July 13, 2010 Iranian officials have stated that the stoning charge against Iranian mother, Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani will be reviewed, but the death sentence still remains.
She faces death after having been tortured for alleged adultery. In 2006 Ashtiani was convicted of having an ‘illicit relationship’ and received 99 lashes. Since this time the 43 year old has been in jail where she recanted the confession she made under the duress of the lashing.
Just recently she was dragged before a court and retried. Again she was convicted and this time, despite the punishment she has already endured, sentenced to be stoned to death. This barbaric practice involves wrapping a woman tightly from head to toe in white cloth, burying her up to her shoulders in sand, and pelting her to death with large stones.
WE must not let Ashtinai become another victim of the debasing, inhuman treatment of women that has become the daily reality in Iran. Make your voice count and encourage others to do the same.
Take action against the practice of stoning; take action against abuse of women, sign this petition.

It's hard to believe such dark age barbarism thrives in our modern world. The mullahs, judges, and imams of these backward Islamic countries demonstrate to the world an obtuse ignorance so appalling it makes me want to see them all NUKED. Cheating on your spouce is breach of contract, and the offended spouse may sue the offender. That goes for both sexes of course. But it not a matter for the criminal courts. Stoning and death sentences show what Sharia is about. No thank you!

There it goes again, the craze Islamic frenzy. Killing a human being in such pertinance that dissipates any sane human incliniation for civil rule, compassion mercy and love. People should be aware that this is a cosmic disease of a culture, a way of life that could have been condusive during the stone age, but a affront to civilization that has advance evidently. It is such an amaze that in an age man has successfully launch into space, such barbarity of a by gone era still exist all in the curtesy of faint old men with their freaking beards, and a mind obfuscated by bigotory and an evil frame that breaths hell itself!!!

Stoning is a cowardly and extreme form of punishment ordained by powerful men of Muslim faith against defenceless women. The male legislators of Iran should join the modern world. Have the men of Iran no shame? No God, however named, approves of the prideful actions of hypocritical persons.
Look into your hearts and find whatever compassion you would wish to have extended to yourselves.

It's been a very long time since the edicts concerning stoning were designated in the Old Testament (the BIble). Slavery was also prescribed with very strong rules as to how long, conditions for, etc. Although women are considered the holiest of Gods creations in Judaism, there are many contradictions in her status as stated in the scriptures. However, as in stoning and slavery, the religion hsa progressed and must do so if it is to be relevant to the 21st. century. Women's rights are an ongoing, successful and healthy struggle.
Radical Islam has not done this and is not willing to change a jot of the words and declarations of Mohammed. It is why the non-Muslim world is at such odds with sharia, with the regimes of the Arabic world, with the refusal by Moslem immigrants to integrate into the societies of their adoptive countries! It's not the burka or even the re'ala (head veil) that upsets Westerners. It's all that these symbolize for us!!!
My Moslem girlfriends here in Jaffa fight daily and ongoing pressure to submit to sharia law and I applaud their tenacity to freedom (many of them pray and only then don the special garb for prayer- but, don't Jewish and Christian women do the same?). I also applaud the courage and virtue of Nonie Darwish who has been struggling for women and for Western civilization for years! God bless her endeavors.
I oppose the false god of Islam and their heinous treatment of women. However Yahweh the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob gave the punishment of stoning for certain crimes under specific circumstances where there is no doubt of guilt. Concerning adultery the man and the woman are to both be brought forth and if guilty without a doubt, both punished. The Iranians are obviously not followint these instructions and should be punished by their own verdict as false witnesses.
However, I cannot call what Yaweh has declared, as barbaric.
Wake up, Christianity has gone through 'the enlightenment'. The Old Testatment was written by many people over 4,000 years and is a record of Jewish history. Jesus Christ came into the world to enlighten us all, hence Christianity is a loving and peaceful religion. We do not stone women, Christ said to those wanting to stone the prostitute, 'he who is without sin, cast the first stone' and none present was able to lift a fnger. There has never been stoning within the CHRISTIAN FAITH. Jesus came into the world to preach the True faith and to put right those things which were taught by the prophets of the Old Testament.
Everyone who thinks this practice is acceptable should see the movie, The Stoning of Soaraya, available on DVD. It truly demonstrates the barbarous nature of this practice and the hypocracy of many judges.
