At the end of our newsletter we always like to leave our readers with a take action item.
This week, we suggest the take action item that most Americans are already taking. Why don’t you read this, and do nothing!
Do not learn more about the threat.
Do not tell others about the dangers.
Do not demand of your Congressmen, Senators and Law Enforcement to focus on this threat because it isn’t necessarily “politically correct”.
Let’s just be grateful that this attempt to take 270 lives was unsuccessful, and go on with our day. And of course, next time we travel, we will “take the powerful action” of getting to the airport an hour earlier for even more passenger screenings.
But seriously folks, let’s start talking. Let’s start demanding that people pay serious attention to the existential threat posed to us by radical Islam.
Unfortunately, there are a growing number of radicals out there. They are encouraged through all means to take extreme actions against America and West. And terror is just one front in their war.
So please, when it comes to the threat of radical Islam:
Learn more.
Speak more.
Demand more.
And comment here on this blog. Let us know what you think about the threat. And let us know what “take action items” you recommend for dealing with a threat that still remains unfamiliar to too many Americans.
Our hearts go out to the family members of all those killed in a deadly shooting at the Ft. Hood Army Base on Thursday. 13 were left dead with others injured in a shooting spree.
According to reports, many of the casualties were undergoing final medical screenings before being sent off to join American forces in Afghanistan.
Details are being reported all across the media, as President Obama has called the shootings “tragic” and “a horrific outburst of violence.”
Governor Rick Perry of Texas ordered all Texas flags to be lowered to half-mast until Sunday.
While most mainstream media are being careful not declare this an act of violence motivated by radical ideology, some outlets are already reporting that the assailant was a devout Muslim, and disgruntled with the U.S. wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Many Americans would like to believe that terror groups no longer threaten the United States, eight years after the attacks of 9/11. Do not count the FBI and NY law enforcement among those with that mistaken belief.
This week the FBI and NY City Police Department collaborated to arrest alleged ringleader Najibullah Zazi, and two other men in a plot to perpetrate a terror attack using explosives.
The case on Zazi was opened over a year ago, in August 2008. Zazi has admitted having ties to Al Qaeda, and received weapons and terrorism style training in Pakistan.
Zazi has been a legal resident in the US since 1999, and currently resides in Denver. He recently took a road-trip to NYC which set legal authorities into action.
FBI and police suspect that over 3 teams of at least 4 men apiece were being organized for an attack. Zazi’s computer which was confiscated by authorities was found to contain bomb making instructions and video of NY City’s Grand Central Station, as well as information on the city’s stadium facilities.
A New York City Imam is also being held by authorities.
A CBS news report quotes NY City Attorney General Eric Holder stating that the plot is “very serious”. ABC news cites a senior law enforcement agent stating, “I’ve never been so worried.”
Hats off to the FBI and NYC Police for continuing to keep our country safe. But lets not be fooled into believing that grave terror threats do not exist because of the heroic efforts of our law enforcement.
Radicals remain intent on perpetrating attacks that threaten national security and the American way of life.
Georgia man convicted of aiding terrorism groups An Atlanta jury finds Ehsanul Sadequee, 23, guilty in a trial that explored an Internet network of global militant plotting.
An Atlanta jury on Wednesday found a 23-year-old man guilty of aiding terrorist groups after a trial that explored a subculture of youthful extremists who used the Internet to plot attacks and form a loose network connecting North America, Europe and South Asia.
But this paragraph from the article really sums up the nature of the current threat we face in America.
Sadequee’s story, according to investigators, showed how the Internet has become an arena of jihad. Without ever meeting face-to-face, online militants can radicalize, hatch plots, exchange funds and help one another reach training camps and battlegrounds.
To do that, like every other online merchant, we need to process credit card payments. We recently decided to switch one of the applications that enables processing of the payments.
We applied to a well-known service, and were denied. Why? Because the content we sell is considered to be “overly offensive”. Read more…
Many know about the threats that radical Islamists pose to national security. But many Americans simply are unaware of a non-violent Jihad taking place in the U.S. This, potentially more dangerous threat, seeks to use and abuse the freedoms that define America against us.
Today, WorldNetDaily exposes “legal jihad” in action, following the suit of several Islamic organizations against an online journalist.
Richard Thompson, president and chief counsel of the Thomas More Law Center, commented, “This frivolous lawsuit is an example of the legal jihad being waged by radical Islamic organizations throughout our nation. These lawsuits are aimed at stifling the free speech rights of Americans who dare to expose their agenda. They intentionally file lawsuits to intimidate reporters who seek to expose their agenda. By making it costly to defend against their lawsuits, they hope journalists will refrain from writing about the threat to our nation.”
This is a dangerous threat, and one that must be understood, if we are to succeed in the fight against radicals in our country.
Radical Islam is creeping into the West. In Great Britain in particular, the democratic rule of law is being challenged by Sharia Law, which threatens to topple the Western freedoms and equalities that we hold dear.
An important article citing the growing and troubling influence of Islamic Courts and Sharia Compliant Finance (aka. Islamic Banking) was printed earlier this week in the Jerusalem Post.
Here are some paragraphs worth internalizing… Read more…
Now that the terror plot to bomb two NY synagogues and a shoot down a plane at Stewart Air Force Base in Newburgh has been foiled, family members are running to the defense of the suspects.
The party line amongst those close to the terrorists is that they are not terrorists at all. Rather, they are career criminals that were enticed with cash and other amenities by an FBI informant trying to egg on the group to commit a terrorist act. According to the wife of one of the suspects, the entire plot was conceived by the FBI, and those trying to commit the vicious acts were just pawns in a game. Read more…
Four terrorists were arrested yesterday attempting to blow up two synagogues in the Bronx, and shoot down a plane. This is homegrown jihad at its worst, with Radical Muslims seeking to enforce a reign of terror inside America’s borders.
The threats are real. These terrorists were arrested while actually planting [what they thought to be] explosive material. They were planning the attack for over a year, and were actually in the act when arrested by police.
Many thanks to our brave Homeland Security team that prevented bloodshed and horror within our borders. We must ask ourselves if this threat runs deeper than a few crazies from upstate New York.
Three of the four terrorists converted to Islam during or after stints in US Prison. The lead terrorist met the informant in a Mosque. And all live in upstate New York, an area with a growing Muslim population, not far from radical Muslim Enclaves. When you add these factors together, you find a pretty startling reality: The threat is growing, and it is sophisticated. It takes an incident like this to make us aware.
Here is a condensed version of the article in the NY Post, May 20: Read more…
Sunday, 800 emergency workers conducted a drill simulating multiple explosions in the PATH train system under the site of World Trade Center. The drill highlighted the need for large cities to be prepared for terror attacks, particularly on large scale transportation systems.
Reuters and other mainstream media point out that the WTC has been attacked before, and other large scale attacks have taken place in London, Madrid and Mumbai. However, in articles in the NY Times, AP, and Reuters, there were no references to the connecting theme behind the major attacks: Radical Islamic Terror Organizations.
REUTERS:
The World Trade Center site has been attacked twice, first by a truck bomb in 1993 and then in the September 11 attacks that destroyed the Twin Towers. Madrid, London and Mumbai have since been hit by transit system attacks.
