Cold Blooded Murderer Pardoned Because He is a Muslim!

February 22nd, 2010

This just in: The story of honor killing that took in Arizona is now unraveling. This is what happened: A father ran down his own daughter, Noor Almaleki, with his car because she was acting “too westernized.” He then fled the country but luckily was caught.

Now the Arizona Republic is reporting that he will not face the death penalty.

Is this because they disagree with the death penalty? NO! It is because they don’t want to appear racist! However, don’t they realize that they are treating him differently because he IS a Muslim?

“The decision not to seek the death penalty comes after Almaleki’s attorney, Billy Little, a public defender, asked a judge to take special precautions to ensure the County Attorney’s Office wouldn’t wrongly seek the death penalty because Almaleki is a Muslim. “An open process provides some level of assurance that there is no appearance that a Christian is seeking to execute a Muslim for racial, political, religious or cultural beliefs,” Little wrote, referring to County Attorney Andrew Thomas’ Christian faith….”

He admitted that he killed his daughter because she had disgraced his family. So why is he not pleading guilty. We need to find out what would have happened to a man who killed his daughter in cold blood who was not a Muslim. If Arizona would have granted him the death penalty than this murderer deserves equal punishment!

Egyptian Women’s Rights - Here yesterday gone today?

February 7th, 2010

Guess which picture is more recent? As Egypt becomes increasingly radicalized, we see the rights of women moving further and further back in time. Nonie Darwish, featured in Obsession, explains how this radicalization is in part, a rejection of Western values.

“Expecting Muslim women to be behind the reformation of Islam and Sharia, is like asking slaves to end their own slavery without their masters’ approval or asking prisoners to get out of prison without the guards opening the doors. […] For Muslim women to simply revolt against Islamic gender apartheid will be regarded as anti-man, anti-family, anti-religion, anti-government and worst of all, anti-Allah himself.”

Rifqa Bary Update: CAIR is on the Case

January 5th, 2010

Rifqa Bary’s story is continuing to unravel as one of her friends posts an update of her situation. Apparently her parents are being represented by CAIR appointed attorneys whose goal is to destroy Rifqa’s story and prove that she is safe at home.

Since the December 22nd hearing Rifqa has not had any contact with any friends or visitors. This is because of CAIR’s push to keep her in isolation. These are the worst conditions than she has undergone until now.  The next hearing is slated for January 28th so stay tuned.

In the meantime, you can make a difference by emailing the director of Children’s services and let him know that the restrictions that Rifqa faces are nothing short of abusive. Emails should be sent to Eric Fenner - edfenner@FCCS.co.franklin.oh.us

Save the Children with Burka Barbie? Unbelievable.

November 22nd, 2009

Burka Barbie

The Daily Mail, published an article this weekend entitled “It’s Barbie in a burkha: World-famous doll gets a makeover to go under the hammer for 50th anniversary”

The article continues: “Wearing the traditional Islamic dress, the iconic doll is going undercover for a charity auction in connection with Sotheby’s for Save The Children. […] ‘I think this is really important for girls, wherever they are from they should have the opportunity to play with a Barbie that they feel represents them.”

The article writes that girls should have Barbies that represent them, and the article compares the Burqa Barbie to one in a wheelchair!

Someone is going to have to help me understand this one. Selling Barbies that are dressed in an outfit that hides women and treats them like second class citizens AND in order to raise money for uneducated children no less… The money will go towards Save The Children’s Rewrite the Future campaign which helps millions of children around the world affected by conflict.

Has Mattel considered that many of the uneducated children are probably from places where women are FORCED to wear burqas?

This is entirely unacceptable. How do we fight this and make a difference? We need to encourage Save the Children to refuse this disgusting money. We must tell Matel that after 50 years our Barbie-purchasing days are over.

It is as if the Attempted Honor Killing Never Happened

October 26th, 2009

noor

Recently I have felt that perhaps there is a shift in the country and the media is in fact shedding more light on the threats of Radical Islam.

Today I realized I was wrong, that no such shift has occurred. Today I tried to find out what happened to that poor girl in Arizona, Noor Faleh Almaleki who was run over by her father for becoming “too westernized”. Her father is still at large and this story has not been touched since the day it happened.

Media – we want to hear from you. Why don’t you understand that we care about this girl? We want to hear updates on her status and we want to know that the police are doing everything they can to put her father behind bars.

We must demand that media cover these stories, write to your local papers and media outlets and tell them how important hearing the truth is to you and your community.

Rifqa Barry: Fact or Fiction?

August 26th, 2009

Rifqa Barry

This is a complicated story to say the least. Rifqa Barry converts to Christianity and then runs away from home for fear of an honor killing. Running from Ohio to Florida, Rifqa claims that if she is returned home her father will kill her, as she claims it is his duty.

Honor killings happen around the world and the UN estimates that over 5,000 women a year are killed from honor killings. How do we or a judge decide that Rifqa’s father really will murder her and that this is not just some story of teen angst.

We like to believe that parents have the best interest of their children in mind. We must keep in mind that there is a chance that her parents really do love her and just want her safe at home. Who’s decision is this to make? This story is straight out confusing but at least it is raising awareness about Radical Islam. However, does Rifqa’s family fall into this category?

Let’s hear what you have to say. Whose decision should this be? Even if there is a chance of an honor killing is that enough? What impact do you think this case will have?

Afghani Women Stripped of Rights Ahead of Election

August 18th, 2009

Elections in Afghanistan are coming up, this Thursday and to say the least, political tensions are rising. A new law has emerged that states that a wife must have sex with her husband at least every four days. This means that she does not have to agree to it, as it is law. If she refuses, he simply starves her.

This is such a fundamental right that even when writing this blog, I am appalled beyond words. If a woman does not have the option to say no, this is basically saying that rape is completely acceptable.

And what is the point to the passing of this law? It is so that Afghan President Hamid Karzi can win the conservative Shia vote in this upcoming election. BBC reports, “What matters more to Karzai is the support of fundamentalists and hardliners here in Afghanistan whose support he thinks he needs in the elections.”

What does it cost to win an election? Is it the freedom of every woman in Afghanistan, including your wives, mothers and daughters? Let’s spread the word and make sure that every woman is aware of how even though in the West, women’s rights have come very far, there are still many countries that oppress women institutionally. This is not acceptable and we must take action.

The French Burka Debate - Putting an end to Islamic Fundamentalism

June 23rd, 2009

The Burka vs. the Hijab

This week, French President Nicolas Sarkozy stated that the burka is not welcome in France. Home to one of Europe’s largest Muslim communities, France is taking a stand against an extremist form of Islam.

“Condemning the head-to-toe cover for women as a symbol of subjugation rather than faith, Sarkozy was emphasizing his divergent views from US President Barack Obama. […] On a visit to Paris earlier this month, Obama urged Western countries to avoid “dictating what clothes a Muslim woman should wear.”

Sarkozy continued to describe how inside a burka, women are cut off from social life and are deprived an identity, as prisoners. He explains that the burka is not a sign of religion and that it is not welcome in France.

For a leader to stand up to this extreme form of Radical Islam is inspirational. We need to support these leaders and commend them. Religious clothing is one thing, as you can see above in the different pictures of a hijab or a burka. Being stripped of an identity by being covered head to toe in the burka can only be categorized as Islamic fundamentalism.
