Today, one of our nation’s soldiers was murdered for trying to recruit others to join the army. This may not have been part of a great scheme to terrorize the military. But that does not mean that we do not need to pay attention and examine the motives behind the murder.

USA Today reported:
“A Muslim convert who said he was opposed to the U.S. military shot two soldiers outside an Arkansas recruiting station, killing one, police said Monday. […] Hastings identified the man in custody as Carlos Bledsoe, 24, of Little Rock, who goes by the name of Abdul Hakim Mujahid Muhammad.”

Who is this man and why is he so angry? How did he convert to Islam?

Why are more people not looking into this story? It was not even reported on CNN. We need to start conversations about this, look deeper and try to understand why this happened in order to prevent further acts of violence.
