CAIR: Empowering Muslims to Ignore Terrorism

January 4th, 2010

CAIR Fundraiser

CAIR is raising money for a campaign launched last week: A 15 second ad in Times Square, to be seen by millions that highlights the “average” Muslim-American, including a human rights activist and a little league player.

Most agree that there are moderate Muslims who are in fact “good Americans.” The issue however is the amount of effort that CAIR is putting towards highlighting Muslims as patriotic, when nowhere on their site is there any condemnation of the Flight 253 terror attack, or other terror attacks for that matter.

Not only is this new campaign an attempt to show all Muslims as patriotic, CAIR exudes misplaced priorities by showing that anti-Islamic rhetoric is America’s biggest problem. Forget the threat to our national security.

I checked out the press release section to see their response to the huge increase in homegrown terrorist activity. I found nothing. What I did see, however, was a press release condemning the popular and controversial show “Curb Your Enthusiasm” for mocking Jesus. Thank you CAIR. None of us can see through your mask and we actually believe that you care how Christianity is portrayed in the media.

If CAIR spent as much time denouncing terrorism as it did playing a ridiculous role of “Serving Our Country,” American Muslims would be far better off.

Email CAIR Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper, ihooper@cair.com and let him know that he is doing nothing but hurting American Muslims.

Link established between Al Qaeda and drug trafficking in North Africa

December 20th, 2009

Drug Trafficking in North Africa is directly linked to Al Qaeda:

An article in yesterday’s LA Times speaks about the clear link made between the cocaine smuggling routes in North Africa and an Al Qaeda group in the Maghreb.

“Reporting from Washington - Three men alleged to be Al Qaeda associates were charged Friday with conspiring to smuggle cocaine through Africa — the first U.S. prosecution linking the terrorist group directly to drug trafficking.”

The terrorists provide protection along these dangerous routes in exchange for large sums of money. They then use the cocaine profits to acquire better weaponry, expand recruitment and buy off corrupt governments.
An even scarier element of this story is that the personal relationships being formed between the terrorists and the drug organizations can become operational in the future.

It is time that this dimension of the global terror threat gets more attention in the media.
