Terrorist Named in Times Square Attack- No Surprises Here

Thirty year old U.S. citizen, Faisal Shahzad was arrested last night at JFK. Hailing from Pakistan, Shahzad failed to detonate a car full of explosives in Times Square.
We initially heard about this incident a few days ago but wanted to hold off on commenting as to not jump to conclusion. We did not want to say – look here is another example of homegrown terrorism, so we waited. Lo and behold all of our assumptions were confirmed – al Qaeda linked terrorism strikes again, no surprises here. What will still be surprising if the media makes this villain out to be a lone-wolf (yet again). In the meantime, check out what different sites are saying thus far, and stay tuned for more in the coming days.
Leaving Islam? Controversial Bus Ads Win in Miami

April 22nd, 2010
Bus ads in Miami offer support to those interested in leaving Islam. The ads went up and then were quickly pulled down as CAIR claimed they were anti-Islam. After a week of controversy, Robert Spencer and Pamela Geller announce a "major victory for free speech and religious freedom."
Is this sort of advertising anti-Islamic, to say, "Fatwa on your head?" Does it assume that all Muslims live in a situation where their families are threatening them?
Below you can discuss whether or not this bus advertisement is appropriate.

Check out this must see video that focuses on the October arrest of Tarek Mehanna, a Sudbury, Massachusetts resident whom the FBI charged with planning to machine gun shoppers in a New England mall.
The video offers a glimpse into a loosely-coordinated web of radical Islamic individuals and organizations based in New England with ties to Islamic terrorist groups overseas. This web is responsible for the radicalization of the next generation of American Muslims.

Follow the Pig Masks as they Lead by Example

Here is an interesting video, I know that it is in French, but basically you can get the gist of it. This is what happened, a restaurant chain in France named Quick said that they would change some of their restaurants into Halal restaurants, meaning they won't serve pork.
This clearly demonstrates that there is a population shift in these areas. There are more Muslims than before.
The lesson, however, that I believe we can take from this is to look how the people protest. They put on masks of pigs and come up with slogans. They march into the Quick restaurants and make a peaceful scene. The radical Muslims could learn A LOT from this effective campaign (which has already been seen by well over 100,000 online).
The point is this – you don't need to riot or be violent to get your point across. Just check out the guys in the pigs masks!
Does Jihad Jane Represent the New Wave of Terrorism?

Does this woman represent the future of terrorism? We have heard about suicide bombers that were female, but a homegrown terrorist that is a woman is a rare commodity.
If you haven't heard the story, check any website (CNN, LA Times, etc).
What do we think? To me this just proves how dangerous and prevalent the threat of homegrown terrorism really is.
Or could you just say it is a step forward for women, giving them the same opportunity to terrorize as men?
I think the lesson that needs to be learned here is that we have a problem when a random American women decides to join forces with radical Muslims.
