Facebook: Still the Jihad Network

Facebook bans hateful and violent content, restricting pages on terrorist organizations. But Jihadi media groups have found a way around this.
As IPT News reports, such organizations are able to form Facebook pages and share videos and documents with their followers, because they are not well-known.
A new Facebook page of Al-Kataib Media Foundation, a division of the Somali terrorist organization al-Shabaab, for example, glorifies the terror group’s campaign of suicide bombing. Al-Qaeda’s media group has a similar page.
Such pages can be used to directly recruit and indoctrinate followers via the largest social network in the world.

Indiana Grandmother gone Jihad
A grandmother from Indiana, Kathie Smith, who recently converted to Islam and married a suspected German jihadist, is being investigated for possible links to suspected and convicted
international terrorists.
Smith has denied being anti-American but has also praised American-born radical Muslim cleric Anwar al-Awlaki and liked his Facebook page, called 9/11 an “inside job”, and claimed that the United States is a terrorist organization.
Yeah…sounds like a real patriot to me…
The Attorney General’s Urgent Message
According to Attorney General Eric Holder, Americans must "be prepared for potentially bad news."
In the last 18 months, over 50 Americans were charged with planning terror attacks. Many of these individuals were influenced by U.S. Citizen and al Qaeda member, Anwar al-Awlaki, who according to Holder, may be as great a threat as Osama bin Laden.
"The threat has changed from simply worrying about foreigners coming here, to worrying about people in the United States, American citizens -- raised here, born here, and who for whatever reason, have decided that they are going to become radicalized and take up arms against the nation in which they were born," Holder said in the interview with ABC News.

Al-Awlaki, Here We Come
This week, a federal judge rejected a lawsuit, which challenged the governments' right to assassinate Anwar Al-Awlaki, a U.S. citizen and Al Qaeda member who was linked to the underwear bomber last Christmas, the Fort Hood shooting, the recent foiled cargo-plane bomb attempt, and is the "beloved sheikh" of Antonio Martinez, who attempted to blow up a military recruiting center yesterday in Baltimore.
After the judge’s verdict, Jameel Jaffer, Deputy Legal Director of the American Civil Liberties Union stated: "We continue to believe that the government's power to use lethal force against American citizens should be subject to meaningful oversight by the courts."
I definitely hear his point, and in general, I would agree. But this is a terrorist who coordinated numerous attacks against America! If I have to choose sides on this one, I choose America.

YouTube Terror
US-born, Yemen-based, al-Qaeda member Anwar al-Awlaki, who inspires and recruits violence against the West, has been described as the “bin Laden of the internet” (by Arabic satellite network Al Arabiya) and as “the most dangerous enemy of the US because of his ability to recruit followers and inspire attacks” through the internet (by the CIA).
In hundreds of YouTube videos, al-Alwaki explains in captivating English complete with pop culture references, why the Western world is evil. USA Today gave the example of one YouTube clip, viewed over 40 thousand times, in which Al-Awlaki references the passing of Michael Jackson to make a point about the certainty of death and how Jihadists should not fear dying for their beliefs.
Wednesday, YouTube removed hundreds of these videos, which feature calls to Jihad by al-Awlaki. The site had been under pressure from both US and British officials to remove these videos, but only really took these demands seriously after this past weekend’s failed bomb attempt by al Qaeda.
Now maybe it’s just me, but must we really wait until al Qaeda fails to blow up two airplanes en route to the United States, to realize that a terrorist who preaches in perfect English in hundreds of online video clips, enabling his messages to very easily reach Western audiences, poses a huge threat to national security??
