Muslims Use "Taqiyya" to Deceive Non-Muslims About Islam
The Arabic word Taqiyya means “deceit” or “dissimulation.” Unlike the Christian or Jewish religions, Islam not only permits its believers to lie but actually commands it in some circumstances. For the most part, Muslims are not supposed to lie to one another; but, exceptions are made for smoothing over differences between friends (“He who makes peace between the people by inventing good information or saying good things, is not a liar,” Bukhari vol. 3:857 p.533.), lying to one’s wife, and lying in warfare. (Recall: Muhammad himself said, ‘War is deceit,” Bukhari vol. 4:267 and 269)
Lying to non-Muslims, though, is another matter. In fact, Islam permits Muslims to lie anytime they perceive that their own well-being, or that of Islam, is threatened. Taking it a step further, if there is an objective to be achieved that is desirable in Islam, then it is permissible for Muslims to lie in order to achieve that objective. The book of Islamic law, Reliance of the Traveller (or the ‘Umdat al-Salik), states on pg. 746:
"Speaking is a means to achieve objectives. If a praiseworthy aim is attainable through both telling the truth and lying, it is unlawful to accomplish through lying because there is no need for it. When it is possible to achieve such an aim by lying but not by telling the truth, it is permissible to lie if attaining the goal is permissible…”
This principle of lying in order to advance the cause of Islam results in serious consequences when it comes to the issue of Muslims seeking to spread Islam around the world and especially in places like the United States (U.S.) and the West, where the majority of people are not Muslim. Shariah-compliant Muslims routinely use deceptive tactics to polish Islam’s image while at the same time avoiding, obscuring, or omitting any of the negative aspects of Islamic doctrine, history, law, and scriptures. This is often done with prospective converts as well as with audiences Muslims hope will be gullible, like academics, government officials, members of the media, and the public at large.
For example, Muslims often will cite verses from the (chronologically) earlier portions of the Qur’an (which generally were moderate, peaceful, and tolerant), while neglecting to mention that this was the period in Muhammad’s life when he and his tiny band of followers lived in Mecca, where they were ridiculed, powerless, and mostly unaccepted. Yet, even as they cite such passages, they are fully aware that most of these early verses were abrogated (cancelled and replaced) by later passages of the Qur’an that Muhammad produced after the hijra (migration) to Medina. The replacement verses, from a time when Muslims grew powerful, reflect harsh intolerance for non-Muslims and command violence to subjugate infidels (unbelievers) to Islamic law (shariah).
Shariah Muslims do not always express their hostility to unbelievers openly, though. This is where taqiyya comes in. Based on verses from the Qur’an and hadiths (sayings of Muhammad), Muslims can pretend to befriend infidels (in violation of the teachings of Islam) and even display adherence with their unbelief, if this will advance the cause of Islam and protect the believer from harm. Here is one of those verses from the Qur’an:
"Let not the believers Take for friends or helpers Unbelievers rather than believers: if any do that, in nothing will there be help from Allah: except by way of precaution (prevention), that ye may Guard yourselves from them (prevent them from harming you.) But Allah cautions you (To remember) Himself; for the final goal is to Allah." (Q 3:28)
Ibn Kathir was an Islamic scholar who wrote one of the most authoritative commentaries (or Tafsirs) on the Qur’an. This is what he said about this particular Qur’anic verse regarding Muslims pretending to befriend infidels:
“Unless you indeed fear a danger from them’ meaning, except those believers who in some areas or times fear for their safety from the disbelievers. In this case, such believers are allowed to show friendship to the disbelievers outwardly, but never inwardly.…‘We smile in the face of some people although our hearts curse them.’” (Tafsir Ibn Kathir, vol. 2, 141)
So, according to this Islamic principle, if under pressure or threatened with force, not only may Muslims deceive non-believers, it is even legitimate for Muslims to behave in ways normally completely contrary to their faith. For instance, given such circumstances, a Muslim may drink alcohol, skip prayers and fasting during Ramadan, renounce belief in Allah and even pretend homage to a deity other than Allah, and utter insincere oaths. It is important to understand the concept of taqiyya so as not to be taken in by such tactics.

The Islamic advocacy establishment in the U.S. insists that all Muslims in this country happily accept Constitutional freedoms and pluralism, and that anyone who suggests otherwise is a venomous "Islamophobe." However, Salafism, a form of hardline Islam that calls for the imposition of Islamic law in its fullness, including stonings, beheadings, amputations, and warfare against unbelievers, is being preached not just in Saudi Arabia, Yemen and Iran, but also right here in Brooklyn, NY.
And while the politically correct media establishment demands that we accept that mosques in the U.S. are exactly equivalent to churches and synagogues, nothing more, nothing less, Shehadeh claims that pro-jihad sermons are being preached in mosques in the New York area. This isn't really surprising, despite the fact that it goes against the iron dogma to which the government, the mainstream media and Islamic spokesmen in America all adhere. In 1998, Sheikh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani, a Sufi leader, visited 114 mosques in the United States. Then he gave testimony before a State Department Open Forum in January 1999, and asserted that 80% of American mosques taught the "extremist ideology."
The Center for Religious Freedom's 2005 study and the Mapping Sharia Project's 2008 study confirmed his findings. Each independently showed that upwards of 80% of mosques in America were preaching hatred of Jews and Christians and the necessity ultimately to impose Islamic rule. Just recently, in the summer of 2011, came yet another study that showed that only 19 percent of mosques in the U.S. do not teach jihad violence and/or Islamic supremacism. Ironically, these 19 percent are the real Islamic extremists, i.e. they ignore Shari'ah.
Keeping in mind that the laws and constitution of the United States of America were derived from Biblical laws and the 10 Commandments. This allows citizens to base all conduct on the basis of morals, ethics and critical thought. Islam, on the other hand is based entirely on authoritative thought and theocratic rule. If two people disagree on political ideologies or moral / religious doctrines and ethics, both parties to the debate have had a learning experience. In Muhammadan Islam, if you disagree with, disparage or criticize the prophet Muhammad or Allah, you will have a death experience.
All religions have flaws and radicals. Most religious text was written long ago, and often when translated into another language things are lost.
Take the Bible for instance; if every christian followed it verbatim, society would certainly be more oppressive toward women and racial/social minorities.
A few examples:
When men strive together one with another, and the wife of the one draweth near for to deliver her husband out of the hand of him that smiteth him, and putteth forth her hand, and taketh him by the secrets: 12 Then thou shalt cut off her hand, thine eye shall not pity her. (Deuteronomy 25:11-12)
"Women should be silent in the churches, for they are not permitted to speak, but should be submissive, as the law also says." (1 Corinthians 14:34)
"Judge for yourselves: Is it proper for a woman to pray to God with her head uncovered? Does not even nature itself teach you that if a man has long hair it is a disgrace to him, but that if a woman has long hair, it is her glory? For her hair is given to her as a covering." (1 Corinthians 11:13-15)
"Slaves are to be submissive to their masters in everything, and to be well-pleasing, not talking back ." (Titus 2:9)
"Slaves, submit yourselves to your masters with all respect, not only to the good and gentle but also to the cruel. " (1 Peter 2:18)

The unlawful pResident aka Obama is Committing Taqiyya
When the person using the alias, Barack Obama, quoted the Adnan (call to prayer) in "perfectly accented Arabic" as reported by the New York Times in the article, "Obama: Man of the World," in March, 2008 he was committing taqiyya. He wanted to be understood by Muslims as taking Shahadah, the one way which is proscribed and required to publicly profess your faith in the God of Islam, namely, publicly stating: "There is no god but Allah and Muhammed is His prophet." Obama (hereafter, "Zero") thereby acknowledged Allah as his god and Muhammed as the prophet of that god. This deception was successful in convincing many Muslims, including Arabic and other leaders, such as the Foreign Minister of Egypt (as reported by Avi Lipkin and his wife), that Zero is a crypto-Muslim. Many Muslims now believe that Zero is a secret Muslim and greatly admire him for his successful deception of the American people and the West. However, the deception is far greater. Zero is not a genuine Muslim, although he does sympathize with their cause and will use them to further his cause to destroy the West. He will ultimately betray and destroy even them. Zero is a New Ager like Oprah Winfrey, who announced, "He is The One." She was playing the role of the powerful cultural archetype of the female Negro psychic (like The Oracle in the movie, "The Matrix,"). Zero is a disciple of the New Age philosophy that teaches him there is no true distinction between "genuine" Christianity and "genuine" Islam, because, he believes, they are both pointing toward the same ultimate truth, namely, that all spiritual paths lead to the revelation that everyone and everything is God. This is pantheism and it is the original demonic lie which Zero and his disciples will successfully impose by threat of death on the world.

Shortly after the 1967 Arab-Israeli war, there was an International Arab Student Organization three day meeting held at my graduate school. I attended the in-English sessions to become better informed about the Arab mind. First you need to appreciate students attending North American universities and graduate schools were likely children of parents rich and / or powerful enough to send their children to the US, AND, the attendees included a large number of Arab professors teaching at US and Canadian universities. This was the Arab intelligentsia.
It was truly scary. The whole theme of the conference was: We lost the war militarily, We must now win by other means - public relations. The principle directive from the organizers and podium speakers was explicitly "Lie!”
Information packets contained a map of the middle east without Israel. To help guide participants efforts, a significant amount of literature in English and Arabic was distributed, providing talking points. One occurrence I observed at the conference was an older Caucasian man during audience Q&A expounding on his vehement hatred of Jews, and that the Holocaust and massacre of Jews by Hitler was all a Jewish lie. Not only did the speaker not challenge him, he encouraged him. He actively fanned his hatred to effect further anti Israel efforts.
My personal experiences amply illustrated that lying to obtain supremacy is not an abstract ancient concept in the Qur'an. I saw it being taught, strongly encouraged as a tactic by professional academic leaders, and implemented with practical supporting aids and documents.
With a media that all too frequently espouses there are two sides to any dispute and they are equally moral and valid, extreme positions get all too much exposure. Unfortunately Goebels was very correct with his Big Lie principle. Lying as a strategy works. Repeat a lie enough times and it becomes the accepted truth.
I have written and commented to many papers about taqiyya, yet most liberal publication refuse to print the word, much less discuss it. It seems any reference to taqqiya is prohibited because it is actively censored.
in islam the punishment for lying is choping the (presently followed in muslim countries) islam stricktly fobiddens lies and lying is considered as a biggest sin and has punishments in this world and in hereafter as well and allah hates lying. lying and cheating is a quality of a munafiq. so how can anyone say that islam permits lying even to bring non muslims into the fold of islam. we muslim dont have the neccessity to lie and it is not the muslims who lie but the foolish jews and christian who has misunderstood their religious scriptures are bigest liars and almost every quotations mentioned in this article are misuderstood and modified and wrong translation and spreading this type of misconceptions about islam cannot stop the spreading islam and only fools will believe and no religion in the world permits lying.
