Even a student needs to be informed, how much more when you are an activist. As for an author like me, I can't imagine living in today's world without being informed. No one would want to be called a fool/dull person, right?
Also, an activist needs enough information on a particular subject especially if it's related to what an activist is fighting for.

I could not agree more that people need to be aware of both sides of an argument before deciding where they stand. Whether you went to vacation bible school or you spend your spiritual time inside a mosque, one must take the time to understand why they believe what they do and why the opposing person believes what they do. Having a mutual understand of where the other person "is coming from" can help to resolve conflicts and come to a compromise. It can be much harder since the issue here is concerned around religion, but it doesn't make it impossible to have a mutual understanding.
