How great is the danger of extremist violence in the name of Islam in the United States? Recent congressional hearings into this question by Rep. Peter King (Republican of New York), chairman of the Committee on Homeland Security, have generated a firestorm of controversy among his colleagues, the press, and the general public. Though similar hearings have taken place at least fourteen times since 2001, King was labeled a latter-day Joe McCarthy and the hearings called an assault on civil liberties and a contemporary witch-hunt. Yet the larger dilemmas outlined by both the congressman and some of his witnesses remain: To what extent are American Muslims, native-born as well as naturalized, being radicalized by Islamists? And what steps can those who are sworn to the protection of American citizenry take that will uncover and disrupt the plots of those willing to take up arms against others for the sake of jihad?

I must say that I am OUTRAGED by Radical Islam ANYWHERE in the world; especially in my own country, the United States.
I am a Christian myself. I remember reading a very powerful statement made by Speaker/Writer Joyce Meyer: "Let Emotions Subside Before You Decide." I tend to be led by my emotions more than I should; this has helped me to stop and think more, before acting. Better decisions are made that way.
I do what I can for my country. I served in the U.S. Navy for twenty years, and retired as an Operations Specialist Senior Chief Petty Officer (E-8).
Currently, I am a member of ACT! For America; an organization created by Brigitte Gabriel, to provide American citizens a means to be a collective voice for the democratic values of Western Civilization, such as the celebration of life and liberty, as opposed to the authoritarian values of radical Islam, such as the celebration of death, terror and tyranny.
I believe in praying, and I also write letters to the political persons that represent and affect my state, regarding concerns of Radical Islam, Sharia law, etc...
The acronym ACT! means American Congress for Truth. Their web address is www.actforamerica.org
